Enrichment:
We want to create LAGSA to bring together the Latin American graduate students and foster awareness and cultural exchange with the rest of the student population. The idea to found the organization started after we organized the 'Asado Latino' party last spring. We plan to organize other social events in the future with the support of the GSA.
Official recognition:
With official recognition we will be able to obtain financial support from GSA to organize social and cultural events.
Sustainability:
We plan to hold a second 'Asado Latino' party in the future. We are also planning other cultural exchanges such as Latin movie nights.
Goals:
Our organization aims to provide a professional, informative, and social network for Latin American graduate students at Rice University and also to promote Latin American culture and awareness.
